WEEKLY RECAP: WEEK TWELVE

This week was a pretty impactful one as we all sat with tears in our eyes learning about one of the most influential men CMU has ever seen, Dick Parfitt. The CMU Hall of Famer, former MAC Coach of the year, and inductee of the Gus Macker Hall of Fame, has been a legacy here at CMU through his kindness and selflessness. Our two guest speakers, Dr. Lori Irwin and Coach Smith, told us about their interactions with him and expressed to us how much of an impact just one man had through his generosity with his time and being personable, and hoped that we could follow in his footsteps by being a positive influence on everyone we touch throughout our lives. They both expressed to us that we never know when our legacy is starting, so enjoy it every step of the way. Lastly, they wanted us to know how much hard work our professor Tim Otteman does behind the scenes to make our class so wonderful, and reminded us that WE are the reason he does what he does.

After everyone collected themselves, we went out and did a Macker tunnel for our two guests and said our goodbyes. Tim handed out our 50/50 raffle tickets to be sold, and we moseyed our way to the Fieldhouse to practice our Opening Ceremonies dance. Another great week in the books! Stay tuned for more.
